Unrequited...

I have seen the ocean of love in your eyes,
I have felt the presence of love in your heart,
I can understand, but what I can do my dear,
I am as helpless as you are…

My dreams and thoughts are for someone else,
My love is promised to someone,
But I wish I could put a balm,
To soothe your ailing heart…

Now I can see the longings in your eyes,
I can hear the secret sorrow hidden in your voice,
But I cannot quench your thirst my love!

I am as helpless as you are….,,,
