Happy Children's Day!!!!!!!

Dear children! A smile of yours can show heaven on earth. A twinkle of your eyes can still us for ages. Happy children's day.God Bless.
Children’s day is special day for the children. Universally, Children’s Day is celebrated on 20th November, every year. But in India it is celebrated on 14th November, because the date marks the birth anniversary of legendary freedom fighter and independent India’s first Prime Minister – Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru. As a tribute to Nehru and his love for children, Children’s Day is celebrated on his birth date. This day reminds to each and every one of us, to renew our commitment to the welfare of children and teach them to live by their Chacha Nehru’s quality and dream.

Happy Halloween!!!!!!!!!!

What is Halloween?
Halloween falls on the 31st October of every year and is the day before All Hallows' Day, also known as All Saints' Day in the Christian calendar. Traditionally, the Christian Church held a vigil on All Hallows' Eve when worshippers would prepare themselves with prayers and fasting prior to the feast day itself.

The name Halloween – now synonymous with ghouls and witches – actually derives from the Old English word 'hallowed' meaning holy or sanctified. This is now usually contracted to the more familiar word Hallowe'en, but how did this day become associated with all things ’unchristian’?

Well, the date of Halloween, 31st October, marked the end of the Celtic year and was believed to be the day when the spirits of those who died in the previous year would come back and possess a body of the living to allow themselves to pass into the afterlife.
However, the people who were still living were not keen on being possessed and would dress up in scary costumes to try and frighten away spirits. And this is the how the modern Halloween holiday was born.
Modern Halloween
So nowadays, Halloween is mostly a time when people dress in scary costumes, go ‘trick or treating’, display carved pumpkins and play traditional Halloween games, such as apple bobbing.

Trick or treating involves dressing up in costumes and knocking on neighbours doors for treats. If treats are not given then tricks are played on the neighbour. It is thought to have come from a traditional European custom called 'souling'. It is believed that Christians used to go from door to door in villages to ask for soul cakes and for every cake you gave them they would say a prayer for one of your dead relatives.

Apple bobbing is a game traditionally played on Halloween. A number of apples are placed in a large bowl of water. Players have to try to catch one of the apples using only their teeth. The hands must remain behind the back at all times. This game is believed to date back to Roman times when Romans used to celebrate Pomona, their goddess of fruit, in October. The symbol for Pomona was an apple.

Carving a face in to a pumpkin and placing a candle inside is to represent the Irish folklore about a man called Jack. It is believed that Jack was a notorious trickster and once even managed to trap the Devil up a tree. When Jack died, he was refused from heaven because of his bad behaviour and in revenge for being trapped up a tree, the Devil refused Jack entry into hell. Instead, he gave him a single ember to guide him through the darkness. The folklore tells us that the ember was said to be placed inside a turnip to make it last longer. Over time the turnip has changed to a pumpkin.

Pondupol.............

Pandupol Pandupole is made of two words i. e. Pandu & Pole. Infact Pandu stands for Pandawas; the five brother heroes of the Mahabharat where “Pole” means “Gate”. The Hindu Mythological belief is that the pandava brothers in a historical game of gamble against their cousions the Kauravas; lost the right to the throne and accepted an exile for thirteen years with the condition that the thirteenth year’s exile should be spent in disguise and if during this year their identity get disclosed then they will have to repeat the entire term of exile once again. It is believed that the thick forests of Sariska tiger land provided the necessary hide out to the Pandavas during their thirteenth year’s exile but the enemy spies could pierce through this top secret and started a thorough search operation by vigorously combing these forests. The Pandavas flew towards Pandupole side where they got traped on all the three sides by hillocks. They could not go back as well for fear of the enemy and then “Bhim”; the mighty brother made a gateway through the confronting hillock by using his historic mace and finally succeeded in their mission. After this legend this gateway was named as “Pandupole”. This is situated at about 21km. from the main entrance of the Sariska Sanctuary. Presently this is 20ft by 15ft wide hole at a height of 300ft from the ground. During monsoon spring flows through this gateway and is a source of great attractin to every tourist visiting Sariska.

Mandir Shri Pandupol Hanuman Ji

Cause of Establishment:The bridge of Pandupol is related to the Pandavas who spent part of their time in exile here incognito. At one place, there are two hills meet together. The way was obstructed which was broken upon by Bheem, the most powerful of the Pandavas with his Gada (mace). The result was a door like opening in the rock out of which flows a natural water stream. This beautiful scene and national spot has become all the more sacred and it is haunted by the Hanuman temple which is close by this water stream. It is said that the Hanuman temple was founded by Sant Nirbhaya Dassji Maharaj, who was a devotee of Lord Hanuman and hence in this thick forest, he founded this temple of Hanuman ji which has been now fully constructed and attracts thousands and thousands of people.

Situated midst the game century of Sariska, the place has special charm. On every Tuesday and Saturday, people visit the temple in great numbers because these two days are held sacred to Lord Hanumanji.

Kalash ........

Kalasha, also spelled as Kalash (literally “pitcher, pot”), is a metal (brass, copper, silver or gold) pot with a large base and small mouth, large enough to hold a coconut. Sometimes “Kalasha” also refers to such a pot filled with water and topped with a coronet of mango leaves and a coconut.
Sanskrit is a poetically strong language with mysterious power to describe most complex ideas by simplest examples. Since the time of Rigveda, Kalash is used to explain basic sources of life. And no doubt, it depicts very nature of nature.
Pot represents the container of the fertility (Prosperity). Place to create new world. Place to give birth to world. Womb that nurtures and nourishes life.
The water in the kalasha symbolizes place from where entire creation emerged. It is the giver of life to all and has the potential of creating innumerable names and forms, the inert objects and the sentient beings and all that is auspicious in the world from the energy behind the universe. The coconut, a cash crop, represents prosperity and power. The water in the pot represents the life-giving ability of Nature. The mango leaves and the thread represent the love that “binds” all in creation.

The kalasha is therefore considered auspicious and worshipped. The waters from all the holy rivers, the knowledge of all the Vedas and the blessings of all the deities are invoked in the kalasha and its water is thereafter used for all the rituals, including the abhisheka.
Thus the kalasha also symbolizes immortality. Men of wisdom are full and complete as they identify with the infinite Truth. They brim with joy and love and respect all that is auspicious. We greet them with a purnakumbha (“full pot”) acknowledging their greatness and as a sign of respectful and reverential welcome, with a “full heart”.

On Ganesh chaturthi..........

Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations

The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated the states of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh and many other parts of India. Started by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaja, the great Maratha ruler, to promote culture and nationalism, the festival was revived by Lokmanya Tilak (a freedom fighter) to spread the message of freedom struggle and to defy the British who had banned public assemblies. The festival gave the Indians a feeling of unity and revived their patriotic spirit and faith. This public festival formed the background for political leaders who delivered speeches to inspire people against the Western rule. The festival is so popular that the preparations begin months in advance.

Ganesha statues installed in street corners and in homes, and elaborate arrangements are made for lighting, decoration, mirrors and the most common of flowers. Poojas (prayer services) are performed daily. The artists who make the idols of Ganesh compete with each other to make bigger and more magnificent and elegant idols. The relevantly larger ones are anything from 10 meters to 30 meters in height. These statues are then carried on decorated floats to be immersed in the sea after one, three, five, seven and ten days. Thousands of processions converge on the beaches to immerse the holy idols in the sea. This procession and immersion is accompanied by drum- beats, devotional songs and dancing.

It is still forbidden to look at the moon on that day as the moon had laughed at Ganesha when he fell from his vehicle, the rat. With the immersion of the idol amidst the chanting of "Ganesh Maharaj Ki Jai!" (Hail Lord Ganesh). The festival ends with pleas to Ganesha to return the next year with chants of "Ganpati bappa morya, pudcha varshi laukar ya" (Hail Lord Ganesh, return again soon next year.

Tulsi..........

‘Tulsi’ is a sacred plant. The plant grows to a height of two to three feet. There are two varieties - the black (krishna) and the white. This plant has vertical springs which bear small flowers. Most probably its root name is tulas (तुळस) and tulsi (तुलसी) is its Sanskrit version.
Meaning: Man saw this plant but could not compare it to any other. Hence archaeologists began calling it tulsi. -Brahmavaivarta Puran, Prakrutikhand 15
If one worships Vishnu without tulsi leaves then it is in vain because without offering tulsi leaves or without sprinkling food with water using them, Vishnu does not partake of the offering. Looking at, touching, meditating upon, praying to, worshipping, planting or eating tulsi leaves can cleanse one of sins committed in several births in the bygone eras. It is said that all deities reside in this plant right from the roots to the shoots.’
Why are tulsi leaves offered to Vishnu?: Commonly it is said that in the ritualistic worship of a deity, it is offered its favourite item; for example, Ganapati likes red flowers, Shankar bel and Vishnu tulsi. Then a story as to why that deity likes that particular substance is narrated. In reality superior deities like Shankar, Vishnu, Ganapati do not have any likes or dislikes. Yet the reason for offering certain substances to certain deities is as follows.

One of the objectives of ritualistic worship is that the idol which is to be worshipped should get charged with divine consciousness (chaitanya) and that it should help one in making spiritual progress. In order to generate that divine consciousness, the substance which is offered to that idol has more ability to attract the pure particles (pavitrakas) [most subtle spiritual particles] of that deity, from as far as the maha region as compared to other substances. Red flowers have the ability to attract the pure particles of Ganapati, bel of Shankar, tulsi of Vishnu, etc. Hence tulsi leaves are offered to Vishnu. A tulsi plant is planted on a pedestal in front of the house and tulsi is even wedded to Krishna.

How a woman feels loved ............

A woman feels emotionally supported when you listen. It has been shown that men speak 2000 words a day, women, 7000. While men principally talk to relay facts, make a point, or achieve a goal, women speak for all of these reasons as well as for many other reasons such as to relieve stress, create intimacy, and form a bond.

Unfortunately when a man tries to listen, often he either tries to solve her problems or he feels blamed. A woman was telling her husband about a friend. Her husband's response was:  “Have I done something wrong?”  She had to laugh at the impossibility of his question – he hardly even knew the woman involved. As a man, instead of thinking of your reactions, you can focus on listening. Yogi Bhajan once explained to a group of men,  "communicate to others that you have the capacity to hear them."
Joe was a fine detail carpenter and a man of few words. Kathy, his wife of 20 years used to get angry all the time about their lack of communication. In couples therapy, she realized that  if he didn't feel blamed, he enjoyed listening to her.  In fact, once she started to tell him how much she appreciated his attention, he himself sought out conversation.
One thing Joe didn’t understand though, was why she had to bring up the same issues over and over again. He thought they had settled certain questions the last time they talked. A woman does need to go over the same issues many times (even monthly), but all she needs is that you listen. Maybe there will be some small changes you can make that will relieve the tension. Over much time, with the support of a loving relationship, she can conquer her demons and the issues can change.
Expressions of emotional support
Treat her like you did when you first met her
Hug her
Display affection
Ask specific questions about the day
Take her side when she is upset with someone
Make eye contact when listening
Validate her feelings
Practice listening and asking questions
Offer to help if you see she is tired
If she is hurt let her know you are sorry for her pain
If you need to withdraw tell her you’ll be back

A Beautiful Morning Message....

Once A Boy Went To A Shop With His Mother.

The Shop Keeper Looked At The Small Cute Child And Showed Him A Bottle With Sweets
And Said

" Dear Child..... You Can Take The Sweets...

But The Child Didn't Take.  The Shop Keeper Was Surprised..
Such A Small Child He is And Why is He Not Taking The Sweets From The Bottle.

Again He Said Take The Sweets.... Now The Mother Also Heard That And Said..

Take The Sweets Dear..

Yet He Didn't Take...

The Shopkeeper Seeing The Child Not Taking The Sweets...
He Himself Took The Sweets And Gave To The Child.

The Child Was Happy To Get Two Hands Full Of Sweets...... ......

While Returning Home The Mother Asked The child...
Why Didn't You Take The Sweets,  when The Shop Keeper Told You To Take?..

Child Replied...

Mom! My Hands Are Very Small And If I Take The Sweets I Can Only Take Few..
But Now You See When Uncle Gave With His Big Hands....
How Many More Sweets I Got!

Moral:-
When We Take We May Get Little But When God Gives...
He Gives Us More Beyond Our Expectations. ..
More Than What We Can Hold..!!!!!! !!!

आजाद की कभी शाम नहीं होने देंगें;
शहीदों की कुर्बानी बदनाम नहीं होने देंगें;
बची हो जो एक बूंद भी गरम लहू की;

A Glimpse of First independence...

Indian flag replaced British flag on August 15, 1947 as India got independence.

Mountbatten swears Jawaharlal Nehru  as Prime Minister of India on August 15, 1947.

Mountbatten arrives at Delhi airport, he was received by Nehru and Liaquat Ali on March 25, 1947.

After swearing in as the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru gives his first speech holding an Indian flag on August 15, 1947.

Nehru along with Mountbatten on the first
Independence Day in Delhi on August 15, 1947.

At the stroke of midnight on August 14, 1947, Jawaharlal Nehru addressed the new nation through his speech ‘Tryst with Destiny’..........
"Long years ago, we made a tryst with destiny, and now the time comes when we shall redeem
our pledge, not wholly or in full measure, but very substantially. At the stroke of the midnight
hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which
comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends, and
when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance. It is fitting that at this solemn
moment we take the pledge of dedication to the service of India and her people and to the still
larger cause of humanity."

Na sar jhuka hai kabhi
aur na jhukayenge Kabhi,
jo apne dum pe jiyen sach me zindagi hai wahi.
Live like a true INDIAN.
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!!!!!!!
