A visit to Sitamahri..........

Hi, friends.........
Last week, I had a chance to visit Sitamahri.,the place where Sita was born, the main character of the epic Ramayan. The district is situated along the border of Nepal. The name Sitamarhi, derives from "Sitamahi", meaning "hermitage of Sita".. It is the mythological birthplace of Sita and the spiritual centre of many sages and saints.
On the way, there was Semradh Nath Temple. Semaradh Nath Dham is a pilgrim place where during Sawan. People gather to offer their faith and "Kawar" to Lord Shiva.

Valmiki Ashram

This is the place where Sita was abandoned by Laxman as commanded by Lord Ram. Valmiki's Ashram is situated just one km away from his native village. When Sita was destined for her second exile, she was pregnant. She gave birth to the twins Luv and Kush in this very ashram of Valmiki. The saint created the epic Ramayana at this ashram and it was recited by the young Luv and Kush during their visit to Ayodhya.

The great Indian epic,The ramayana, written by maharshi Valmiki talks about Lord Rama and his consort maa sita.Valmiki ji very delicately defined the noble character of maa sita, her sincerity, sacrifice and devotion, which made her ideal woman. It was at sitamarhi she descended into the lap of mother Earth.
